Root Beers 057a - Out with the old...

Would you beileve it? 2011 is going already, and so, it's time for Father Time Bunnzie to go with the events of 2011.
There are bad events on the right hand side, along with the deaths. On the left, we have a very happy event concerning Will and Kate, along with the politcal event on which we said NO to the Alternative Vote. (Serve AV right.) There was a Census and the death of the News of the World, killed by the phone hacking scandal. There was three television events. The total was raised over £74 million to Comic Relief via Red Nose Day 2011. The bad television event was that Big Brother returned to Channel Five (boo!) and the good television event was that Sooty returned to CITV after a seven year break (Yay!). Finally, 2011 was a year to me. I got my mini laptop, known as a notebook, I've done a blog, a new website, FurAffinity and LiveJournal (forgot to put that on there.). And I've did some exams for college. Some I've passed and some I've failed.
So, I'll leave you to say "Happy New Year!" and I will be planning tomorrow's comic after I watch "Hootenanny with Jools Holland" on BBC-2 with my parents at home. This is Alexander Elliott-Welch, alias "Al Welch", for BBC South Today, in Woolston, Southampton.

Advent 2010: Day 32

Here it is! My last deviantion of 2010! This person is counting the last minute of 2010 while the rest of his friends are outside waiting for thier clock tower to strike 12. Happy New Year, everyone!

Advent 2010: Day 31

In honor of my sister's birthday, I did a late gift for her, including one of her paintings playing a part of the late Christmas present for Maximillium "B'Stard" Lyon. I also feature her deviantart account's avatar on there.

Advent 2010: Day 30

Meanwhile, in a shopping centre, Professor C. J. E. Bunnzie and his wife, Maggieus Bunnzie are shopping for a New Year Eve's party.

Root Beers 056 - Punk'd for Christmas

Well, that was a big excuse for doing a lot of Christmas shopping and NOT doing a Christmas comic.

I've been misjudged, for unknown reasons.

Anyway, I'm still recovering from yesterday's big Christmas dinner. Important announcement will come in the new year.

Talk to you later.

Advent 2010: Day 27

I never believe that there was a boxing event on Boxing Day, so I did a strip to celebrate it. It is a edutainment strip. Not only I included Lily-Raccoon's fursona for the third time this year, but also I included Lily-Raccoon's husband on there. Have a merry (late) Christmas and Feliz Navidad, Lily.
P.S. I'm sorry for including them without permission, let's just say this is gift art, okay?

Advent 2010: Day 26: Root Beers 022 - Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all at deviantART!
It took me all day to thought all this up.
That Womble I've added on there is called Bungo, of which I named my company after him as a tribute to the Wombles and their creator.

Merry Christmas!

UPDATE 2011:
Merry Christmas to Blogger!

Newsflush 24/12/2011

Hello, there.
Well, it's Christmas Eve 2011, and I'm pooped out after so many rushes to get Christmas shopping done. Earlier tonight, Mum and I went to Habour Lights Picture House and saw "It's A Wonderful Life" (Review later on.) It's the first time in ten years I went to see a picture.
Anyway, back to business, if you're wondering on deviantART, why is there a lack of updates recently, is because I'm getting this Christmas shopping done and dusted with.
I've finished wrapping presents and making the christmas cards for my family. So, heck yeah, I'm already home for Christmas.
Have a wishful Christmas and a brave New Year in 2012.
-Al Welch

Advent 2010: Day 25

This is it! Christmas Eve! I celebrate that by doing this picture.
I put Tenderheart Bear from the Care Bears in the role of Rudolph, because Billie Mae Richards does the voice of Rudolph in the 1964 Rankin/Bass television special and Tenderheart Bear in the first two Care Bears movies (Nelvana). Billie passed away in September, this year. So I dedicated this picture to the memory of her.

Comet pun gag is not really nesscary...

Advent 2010; Day 23

The weather's real awful (for the adults) as the transport system seemed out of order.
(Accurate in 2010)

Wednesday, 21 December 2011

Advent 2010: Day 22

Another load of old rubbish that you will find on most shopping channels, including this one.

Advent 2010: Day 21

Christmas television specials.
What can we do with or without them?

Advent 2010: Day 20

Nancius and Rheged Bunnzie are decorating thier new Christmas tree.

Advent 2010: Day 19 : Root Beers #21 - Last Shopping Week

Seven more SHOPPING days until Christmas is here.
With a cameo appearance by Frog Raccoon Strawberry by Kyle A. Carrozza. His entry on the Dumm Comics website (every Friday) cracked me up, everytime I see it first time.

Anyway, I invented the pig and the chicklet friendship handicap in late 1990's in Netley Court School.

Advent 2010: Day 18

Well, school's out, and everyone's about.
I included Bart Simpson on because on 17th December 1989, The Simpsons had thier own animated sitcom.

Advent 2010: Day 16

Have you ever read "War Game" by Michael Foreman? It was based on the much-famed "Christmas Truce" that took place on Christmas Day, 1914. So, I thought I may include one of my army mice (fictional) and one of Jay Naylor's characters from Jay Naylor's Better Days, Fisk Black. Do hope he'll like it.

Advent 2010: Day 15

I would like to apologise for the delay of this deviantion. I wasn't feeling myself. Well, Eurokatt is at it again. The languages are Croatian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, Greek, German, Hebrew, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Welsh and English all meaning "Merry Christmas!"

Tuesday, 13 December 2011

Advent 2010: Day 14

Now, here's a feaster. Maxtara, a character from Maxtaro (hello, again!) tucking into a Christmas pudding, even before some guy have to put brandy on, and the brandy was on fire.
Anyway, hope you like it, Maxtaro.

Advent 2010: Day 13

Wrapping up presents CAN be tiring, if you ask me.
Sorry of the day delay, by the way! :'(

Advent 2010: Day 12 : Root Beers 020 - Secret Santa

I heard of big stuff for Secret Santa, but this is ridiculous!
Nice bat, I drew, though.

Advent 2010: Day 11

Coming up to Christmas, this man have to cook up Christmas Dinner.

Advent 2010: Day 10

Finding a Christmas tree and taking home one can be SOOOOOOOOOO hard.

Crushed and Knaw are having trouble cutting down one, as you can tell. But, not to worry, they'll come back, as they always do in comics.

Root Beers 055 - an ode to Ricky

This is a tribute to the Ricky Garduno you know and love.

The context of this comic strip is true, it happened one day when I read the comic strip at this link. Then, I put on the ole' comment box, saying "I thought Zimbo was Kimbo's nephew." Then, I got a comment back. It was from Ricky himself, he said "Shhhh..."

Of course, I was referring to an earlier comic from 2008 at the next link.

The old comment box went dead and gone, but my memory's still there.

So, adios and farewell then, Ricky Garduno.

Advent 2010: Day 9

Nivlek, a snow leopard by Chris Farrington, is trying to find a turkey for his family's Christmas Dinner, but no cigar, yet.

Advent 2010: Day 8: Eurokatt in Germany

Hello, everyone, once more. I'm here in Germany with my German friend, Adolph. Not only he was a fine toy-maker and enterpurer, but also he was a good actor. Remember Day 6 with Scoorge? He played him, didn't he? Anyway, we have many things in the German Christmas Market. That's the last in my first series. And, before you go I would like to tell you that 4 broadcasters' logos are part of the ARD Network. BR (Bayerischer Rundfunk, hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 1983), HR (Hessischer Rundfunk, hosted Eurovision 1957), NDR (Norddeutscher Rundfunk, providing coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest for Germany) and WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk, hosting Eurovision 2011 (with NDR)). ARD stands for "Arbeitsgemeinschaft der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland". Anyway, have a Merry Christmas, Europe, a Happy New Year, and I'll see you soon. Goodbye!

Advent 2010: Day 7

There's nothing like a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows (flake optional), and read a good back, at the same time. (If only Borders UK wasn't gone in administration)

Sorry for the delay.

Advent 2010: Day 6

I always believe an eagle would play the part of Scoorge. Of course, he's looked like a new friend, though.

Sorry for the delay.

Advent 2010: Day 5: Root Beers #019 - What Russia?

You thought Root Beers was gone for good, but, NOOOOOOO, I included it in my advent calendar.

Anyway, this was thought up when Russia grab hold rights of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, it has a reference to Russia's winning song in Eurovision 2008. But, that's not the only Eurovision reference on this comic. One of the shadows looks like the former mascot of Junior Eurovision Song Contest and look at the caption of where these siblings Christmas shopping at.

Advent 2010: Day 4

THE BAD NEWS.
We've lost the rights of the World Cup 2018 to Russia.

THE GOOD NEWS
It have snowed.

*NEW* 054 - Birthday Mink

Look out, world. Maxine Mink have just been bungoified (characters in Al Welch's style) and is a toast of the town, thanks to Nancius and Rheged Bunnzie.

Maxine Mink is a character by jbwarner86 (on deviantART and FurAffinity) who is celebrating his birthday yesterday. So, happy (belated) birthday. Sorry about the lateness.

Advent 2010: Day 3

Brace yourself, guys. Today's the day. Finally at 2pm, we will know who will get rights for 2018 FIFA World Cup. Fightting against England are Belgium and Holland, Spain and Portugal and Russia. Fighting for the 2022 rights are Australia, Japan, Qatar, South Korea, and the United States

Russia wins 2018 and Qatar wins 2022

Advent 2010: Day 2

I do not like extremely long queues. Especially when it comes to Christmas shopping.

Newsflush 30/11/2011

Hello, once again. I was hoping to bring the next issue of Root Beers, as soon as possible. During that time, I'm doing some gift art for :iconjbwarner86: on his birthday soon, and I'm currently doing Nick Bunnzie in many different styles in two versions, a group version and a version on squares. Apparently, I'm doing a :icontoxindicator: 16 Styles Challenge Meme Remix by :iconnarutokun1:. I'm accepted the challenge that has been dared by :iconnarutokun1:, but it look like he went and ran off. WIMP! Anyway, I got to go. I'll be putting up last year's advent calendar onto here, my website, [link] and on FurAffinity, [link] So, until then, try not to make a riot during the workers' strike in the United Kingdom. Thank you.

Advert 2010: Day 1

Here we are...
the first day of my advent calendar 2010.

And the first day of the rerun on the Root Beers website, FurAffinity and this blog.
Merry Christmas!

*NEW* 052 - Queue Talk

Hello. Yes, it's been 2 weeks of waiting, but here's the current episode of this great comic where Nancius Bunnzie get the information on why the lady's in front of her is quite cross. Well, this comic is reason why. Can't you think about queuing for a minute? I'll bet you will.

"Waiting in the Line" has been brought to you today by the letter Q. It's everywhere in the shops. Get used to it!

*NEW* 052 - Flame War

Hello, there. Yes, you have enjoyed last night's firework display in your area. Pity about what's happened at the M5, though.
Anyway, enough talk. Here's Nick Bunnzie trying to put on a bonfire, but there's a disturbance going on in the flame. Then, Nick Bunnzie tells us why I put Vyvyan Basterd on the flame. Enjoy, I hope.

Vyvyan is a character from "The Young Ones" (c) 1982-84 B.Elton/L.Mayer/R.Mayall/BBC

Newsflush 2011

Well, everyone. I've let you down, again.
Because of bad timing and several free-time, from college, went to gym centres and town wondering, I'm afraid I have to postpone "Zirkus Kapers" until Summer of 2012.
I'm not blaming Southampton City College and Southampton Gymnastics Club for much possible delays, I'm blaming laziness, naughty tablet pens, and small screens for them.
But, the good news is that I shall be getting on with tomorrow's comic for this website that you're reading now. Also, I have some many Christmas comics lined up, and a third season of Eurokatt's postcards, which starts in Malta, when Eurokatt crashes her plane near the hospital in Malta. Did I ever mention that to you? Well, now I have.
Finally, I will be doing some fan art, so if you want some fan art done, let me know.
Until this next newsflush, leave me to sleep.

Root Beers 050 - To be or not to be...

Hello, once again. I do apologise for the delay of this comic, I was going to put that on Monday, but I didn't, due to FurAffinity being on read-only mode.

Anyway, here's my mind between good reality shows (Eurovision Song Contest) and boring, rubbish reality shows (The X Factor) with a bit of Tudor added in. Don't ask me about the year.

This has to be done because my pen from the graphics tablet is being naughty. Anyway, enjoy reading this comic, guys.

(DeviantART readers, please buy the prints.)

*NEW* 049 - A Pin-Up for Dennie?

Root Beers is back again after a week's break. Was to put up a holiday's notice, but forgot. Anyway, Nancius want Rheged to do a Rheged pin-up calendar for her husband, Dennie. But what will the possibleites are?

Sunday, 25 September 2011

*NEW* 048 - Powerpuff Traffic

Hello. And if you're reading this on the new website and FurAffinity for the very first time, HELLO!

Well, after a two month break, Root Beers is back for a third season. And not only that, this will be the first series to be new on FurAffinity and the new Root Beers website. This is the link.

In this comeback, Rheged and Dennie are late for Rheged's business at fashion designing. Again! Due to the guests of this strip, the Whoopass-- er, I mean Powerpuff Girls, created by Craig McCraken for Hanna Barbera Cartoons and the Cartoon Network, a TimeWarner Company (c) 1998-2005

This is to celebrate 20 years of the 1st ever PPG drawing on this link - pretty rare, if you ask me.

Root Beers' certain future

Hello, everyone!

Al Welch's here with some breaking news about my comic strip and its certain future. Despite the cancellation of the Root Beers Summer Special, I am certain that Root Beers is going to have a future ahead with new jokes, new comics, new specials and a revival of the Zirkus Kapers serial - hopefully to be done by the end of November.

Also, I have a new website for Root Beers. It is hosted by Comic Fury. The website address is http://root-beers.thecomicseries.com/. It is in the works at the moment, so let's hope this is going well. Anyway, these dates are such for the occasions.

17/09/2011 - Root Beers restarts
01/10/2011 - Root Beers celebrates its 50th comic
29/10/2011 - Root Beers Halloween Special
26/11/2011 - Root Beers Zirkus Kapers serial starts
24/12/2011 - Root Beers Zirkus Kapers serial ends
31/12/2011 - Root Beers Zirkus Kapers Extra

That's all. Until then, keep reading the comics and then, PLEASE buy the prints of my art. Good bye, and good luck! Oh wait... that's Edward R. Murrow's catchphrase! Darn.

(Yep. You can ignore that prints part.)

NEWSFLASH (from Last Monday)

Hello there, ladies and gentlemen and nosy porkers everywhere.
There's a lot of certain things happening to my online style since I've talked to you last.
I've got a new account at a certain furry art website called "Fur Affinity" Here's the [link] .

Also, if you wanted to know about the lack of Root Beers Summer Special episodes recently, then I've a confession to make. Because of the timing not being right and difficulties doing art on my new laptop, I, Alexander Henry Rhys* Elliott-Welch (my full name), being in soul and mind, have no choice, but to cancel the Summer Special project and arrange the Zirkus Kapers serial in time for Christmas.

It sucks, I know.

Don't worry. I shall get back to the serial as soon as possible, but in the meantime, you shall see the archive and hopefully get to buy the prints that are available in certain items and sizes.

Until then, ta-ra!

Al Welch

*Did I mention that this is my middle name? Well, it is.

Root Beers Summer Special #01: Introduction and Travel

You've waited very long for the first one, and so here it is. The first page of the Root Beers Summer Special here on deviantART. This here is all about travel. Also, it has a reference to Seth MacFarlane and Richard Branson, as well.

Made with Paint 7.

*NEW* #047 - "Hat Fair Popcorn"

Hello, clownfaces! Nice to be back! I'm so pleased to be able to bring you this number after a eight day hiatus. You know, eight is a funny number. When you think about it, it is a funny number. While you think about it, I'll just get on with the description. When Nick Bunnzie attempts to swim in a bucket of popcorn, you wondered "Why? Is it because there's a forthcoming arts festival coming over?" My thoughts: "Yas. The Hat Fair in Winchester." But, his attempet failed, after he realizes that there's no butter on. Poor him. Hope I can aid him in time for the Root Beers Summer Special. Enjoy.
