Last night's performance at The Mayflower, Southampton has been bought to you by the letters A, V, E, and Q and by the numbers 7 and 2, but those numbers aren't really necessary, although. I'm talking about "Avenue Q", the musical that everyone was talking about. It was extremely hilarious that I thought some of my senses might explode. There was so many funny scenes, that I can't explain any. There are songs that I laughed at, including "If You Were Gay", "The Internet is for Porn" and "The Money Song". Also, there are songs that are quite sad, really. "A Fine, Fine Line" and "I Wish I Could Go Back to College" are simply enough to make me weep, in my mind. Apart from all that, the play was really great (apart from the puppet sex scene which was really weird). Everyone laughed, laughed and laughed some more. It was so good, that I think they should make it into a good direct-to-video film. You know, like "Joseph" and "Cats", etc. So, when you need a purpose for black comedy with puppets and humans, go see "Avenue Q" and laugh at your purpose!
Thank you.
